Alibaba.com is an e-commerce platform dedicated to operations B2B (business to business) is among the top in the world. Through this platform, Vietnamese businesses can promote their products to 260 million businesses in 240 different countries and territories.

According to Mr. Pham Dat, General Director of Fado, the largest market on Alibaba is currently the US and EU. Through this cooperation, the ability of Vietnamese small and medium enterprises to promote, offer and find foreign partners will also be simpler and more convenient. Alibaba and Fado will focus on product groups in which Vietnam has advantages such as furniture, textiles, footwear, food and beverages.

Sharing more about this cooperation, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung – Vice President of Vietnam E-commerce Association (Vecom) – said that this will be a support for domestic businesses to promote online sales. Just like with Vecom’s cooperation with Amazon in 2018 and recently through the Department of Trade Promotion, sales opportunities of Vietnamese manufacturers and businesses will increase. If transactions on Alibaba are the whole container, then buying and selling on Amazon is a single product.
“The two sides will support each other. For example, if a business obtains a certificate to participate in selling on Amazon, it is possible that buyers in many places after seeing that product will search for transactions through the Alibaba platform. Choosing to participate in sales on any floor depends on the product and business orientation of each business. But the trend of cross-border e-commerce is inevitable and increasingly becomes an important channel for businesses to export,” said Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung. In the near future, the Vietnam E-commerce Association will promote promotion, organize training and guide to bring some Vietnamese craft villages to participate in selling through major e-commerce platforms. Thereby contributing to promoting the production of traditional products both in the domestic and export markets.
